Garden Style Spring Flowers for Tracy Aviary Wedding at SLC Chase Mill

About Chase Mill at Tracy Aviary

Tracy Aviary weddings are for nature lovers! You walk through a lush garden with birds chirping to get to the Chase Mill venue. It transports you away from the noise of Salt Lake City and into lush botanical gardens with birds from all over the world. It's truly a magical experience for guests. Liberty Park, a well-loved Salt Lake City park, sits next door with a gazebo, pond, splash pad, and rentable paddleboats in the summer. They also host events like plays and music, and many Utah residents go there to jog, play sports, and relax. Close to Salt Lake City, Tracy Aviary is a great place for a destination wedding or a beautiful venue for Utah natives. The Chase Mill at Tracy Aviary used to be a gristmill in the 1950s and is "one of the oldest standing industrial buildings in Utah." What better location to get married than one that fed the community and is an important spot for rest and relaxation for Salt Lake City residents?

The space at The Chase Mill at Tracy Aviary includes a staircase, a main hall with four wood columns, a bar, a basement, an outside patio, and access to the outdoor gardens.

The Bride and Groom

Avery and Joe put so much attention into the details of their guests' experience at their Tracy Aviary wedding. As a florist herself, flowers were a huge priority for the wedding day and were meant to be the venue's focal point. She placed her complete trust in Bronte's Florals, a Utah wedding florist, during the booking process, letting us know her budget and showing us inspiration pictures, then letting us take it from there! She even would call in the months leading up to the event and let us know that she had found more budget for the flowers and asked us to add wherever we thought best! This trust in our style allowed us to create some amazing garden-style arrangements for them that guests are still talking about years later.

The Wedding Color Palette

Their wedding color palette was springy pastels, including yellow, peach, lavender, pink, and ivory. Buying local flowers was a big priority, so the majority of the delicate blooms were grown right in Utah! She was inspired by arrangements with lots of blooms, vines growing up structures, and a cottage garden, full of flowers.

As guests entered the ceremony, they were greeted with a welcome sign with a delicate passion flower vine and floral swag. Once they entered the building, there was a welcome table with flowers, candles, pictures of the couple, and a Polaroid camera for guests to take pictures of themselves for a guest scrapbook. After passing the welcome table, guests are seated in the ceremony space for an unplugged ceremony. The bride entered down a staircase covered in greenery and blooms in an overgrown floral style. She surprised Joe by walking down the aisle to Blink 182 to catch him off guard and break up his nervousness, but he was so nervous he didn't even realize what song was playing. They got married in the middle of stunning garden-style 3D ceremony florals, with florals and greenery up the columns between which they stood and a U-shaped floral arrangement that appeared to be growing up the wall behind them. All the flowers for the ceremony gave the feeling that the historic building was being overgrown by the gardens outside. Plus, a live painter at the wedding painted their ceremony as a keepsake art to preserve the memories!

The Floral Tablescape

Guests then went downstairs for dinner, seated at two long farmhouse tables with delicate blooms and candles, creating a light and airy floral tablescape with whimsical floral arrangements and bud vases alternating. There were also taper candles, photos of the couple, and a pastel peach cheesecloth table runner.

The Cake Flowers

After dinner, guests returned upstairs for the cake cutting. The cake was a simple white two-tier cake with a trendy floral arrangement, the cake meadow, underneath it. This tied in the all-blooms whimsical floral vibe from the downstairs to the upstairs, and they cut the cake with their ceremony flowers as a backdrop. Following that, they had their first dance, and guests partied with DJ Russ Powell, getting the party going. And we can't forget to give a special shout out to Ruby Jane Events that kept the day running smoothly, and Jadie Jo Photography who captured the details in stunning photos with colors that are true to life.

The Memories

In essence, Tracy Aviary's SLC Chase Mill provided the perfect setting for a wedding that embraced the beauty of nature and the magic of romance. Surrounded by lush gardens and vibrant blooms, this enchanting affair captured the essence of love in its purest form—a love that will continue to flourish and grow for years to come.

The couple took all their flowers home to fill their small apartment and enjoyed them for days after the wedding as they relived their perfect day.

Tracy Aviary was perfect for the intimate gathering of friends and family coming together to celebrate Avery and Joe's marriage, which is still alive and strong. Avery is already making plans for a flower-filled vow renewal party because they loved their wedding so much that they are ready to do it again!

The Review of Bronte's Florals

Avery and Joe said this about their experience working with Bronte's Florals for the wedding flowers:

Girls that get it, get it. Bronte’s Florals gets it

I wanted statement florals that were more than just decor- Bronte ended up creating an immersive floral installation for our ceremony. She also made sure to select the most gorgeous smelling flowers so our installation was not only visually stunning but also smelled amazing (I have received so many compliments on it after the fact!) When Bronte handed me my bouquet on my wedding day, she pointed out each type of flower she had hand chosen for me. She put so much thought and care into making my bouquet. Not only did it look amazing but it was like a hand crafted perfume just for my wedding day (and it was such a delicate, springy scent too, not overpowering in the least!) I loved my bouquet so much that I had it dried and framed. It is still in my home.

Bronte herself is super easy to work with, and she is simultaneously super meticulous and laid back which made me feel absolutely comfortable with hiring her. She is an artist, and she curates each piece to match exactly the vibe the couple is looking for. I loved working through the creative process with her. I knew I could trust her based on her portfolio, and she exceeded all my expectations (which were high!) I love looking back on the installs she did for our wedding. I would hire her again and again. Thanks, Bronte!
